# 7. Sharing Fields/Boundaries Between Partner Organizations in John Deere Ops Center, DataSync config

### DataSync Limitations

DataSync only works within a single organization. It can’t automatically merge data from multiple organizations. This means fields or boundaries from a partner’s account won't appear on your monitors unless you take additional steps.

### Options for Seeing Partner Fields on Your Monitors

1. **Move Your Equipment into the Client’s Organization**\
   This allows DataSync to automatically sync all field/boundary data from the client’s account to your equipment.
2. **Add the Client’s Fields to Your Organization and Share Them Back**\
   This involves manual data management. You’d import or recreate the fields in your account, then grant access back to your partner as needed.
3. **Keep Accounts Separate and Share Data Post-Operation**
   * Go to *Field Analyzer* → *Share/Export* → *Work Data* → *Share Work Data* → *Select Partner* → *Submit*.
   * This is especially helpful if you just need to send completed work data to the partner’s account.

### Best Practices for Common Scenarios

#### **Scenario 1: You Manage All Operations**

When your business handles planting, harvesting, or other operations, but a landlord wants access to yield maps:

* Keep the master set of fields in your own organization.
* Give the landlord Locations Level 2 access and use Field Assignment to share selected fields.
* If you don’t want to grant direct access, share the yield data manually after operations.

#### **Scenario 2: You Perform Custom Work on Another Farmer’s Fields**

When your sprayer or other equipment needs to use the farmer’s guidance/autopath lines (from planting) without creating duplicates:

1. **Move Equipment into the Farmer’s Organization**\
   This syncs all boundaries and guidance lines automatically.
2. **Have the Farmer Create a Work Plan**\
   The farmer adds the boundaries, guidance lines, and products in their account, then exports this Work Plan to your account. From there, transfer it to your equipment.

### Critical Notes

* **Avoid Duplicate Boundaries**\
  Decide who owns the “master” copy. Typically, the field owner’s account is designated as master.
* **Leverage Work Plans**\
  They function like setup files, bridging data between partner accounts.
* **Check Permissions**\
  Locations Level 3 and Work Level 2 access help ensure seamless sharing.
